#40 of 50 hotels in Belfast based on Tripadvisor

6.8/10

The hotel needs urgent updating as the rooms were not clean and looked scabby. However, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, even offering us a complimentary breakfast after a reservation mishap at another hotel. The location, though not ideal for access to prime spots, was quiet with nearby dining options. The dining experience was hit or miss with some disappointments. The price was reasonable, but some aspects require improvement for better value.

5.6/10

The hotel had mixed experiences, with some drawbacks like poor room conditions and service but redeeming qualities in a good location and pleasant dining options. Overall, a somewhat average stay with room for improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were in a poor state of disrepair and not well-maintained, offering depressing views without proper amenities like blinds or nets to improve the experience. Accessibility was a challenge with multiple stairs, and issues like no cold water in one sink and a faulty shower head added to the disappointment.
Service
5.0
The service was lackluster, with apologies for limited choices and an unpleasant, condescending attitude from staff. Requests for simple items like a power supply were unfulfilled, pushing for direct bookings for a supposedly well-located hotel.
Location
5.0
The location was a mixed bag, offering proximity to a good breakfast spot and a decent bus route to the city center. However, being close to a noisy student hub affected the overall experience negatively, overshadowing the past glory days of the area.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its moments with a decent self-service setup and food options, albeit with some confusion and delays. The hand-cut beef tartare stood out positively amidst the other average offerings.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were subpar, lacking key elements for a comfortable stay and failing to meet basic expectations, especially considering potential price comparisons.

6.8/10

The hotel is situated in a convenient location near the university, botanical gardens, and the Ulster Museum, providing easy access to the city center and shopping on the Lisburn Road. While the rooms are spacious with a double bed and two singles, they could use a refurbishment. The dining experience offers a good selection of self-service hot food but could be more varied. The friendly service could benefit from some improvements, lacking power supply lending and being a bit aggressive about credit card details.

Dining
7.0
The dining experience offers a self-service hot food selection, but could improve by varying the options.

Basic facilities available, could do with a revamp.
